PLAYSEAT, the renowned brand for gaming chairs, has released a new racing seat that puts gamers in the driver's seat. The Playseat Trophy Logitech G Edition Gaming Chair offers a unique gaming experience like no other.
A Chair for Racing Game Fanatics
Gaming chairs have become a staple for passionate gamers, but not everyone has the space to accommodate one. Playseat has addressed this issue by introducing foldable gaming chairs that allow more people to enjoy racing games as they are meant to be played.
Upgrade or Not?
Now, Playseat has launched the fixed rig Playseat Trophy Logitech G Edition Gaming Chair, which is an upgrade from the folding versions. But is this upgrade truly worth it?
Opening the package, one immediately notices the somewhat messy screw arrangement and unclear instructions. The setup process could have been improved by organizing the screws in numbered baggies, similar to a LEGO set.

Despite this, the assembly is relatively simple and only requires a few pieces. However, reclining the seat requires a screwdriver, which is not as straightforward or elegant as a click mechanism.
Velcro straps, a trademark of Playseat, allow for easy adjustments, although the end result may not match the promotional photos. It's worth noting that the fixed seat is intended to be a selling point of the setup, considering its £529 price tag.
Compatibility Challenges
For users of the Thrustmaster ecosystem, compatibility may be an issue. While the steering wheel platform has numerous screw holes, they are reportedly not suitable for non-Logitech steering wheels. Desk hooks and shims may need to be used to resolve this problem.
As for the pedals, only two out of four screws were compatible, but they were sufficient to hold them in place. It's essential to remember that this setup is designed for the Logitech ecosystem, so these compatibility issues should be seen as a helpful heads-up rather than a criticism.

Comfort and Design
The Playseat Trophy Logitech G Edition Gaming Chair offers a comfortable seating experience, although it may feel a little tight on the arms during longer gaming sessions. The ActiFit cloth material, despite being prone to getting dirty easily, adds a classy aesthetic and keeps the chair cool and comfortable.
The body-conforming design and headrest provide excellent support and comfort. The unique feature of this gaming chair is its solid and frameless rig, which adds stability and allows users to rest their feet when needed.
Solid and Compact
The Playseat Trophy Logitech G Edition Gaming Chair impresses with its sturdiness and stability. Unlike foldable editions, there is no risk of overturning when getting up and out of the seat. Despite its solid construction, the chair is easy to move and store, with a compact and elegant design.
Room for Improvement
Considering the price, there is some room for improvement. The chair could be more reclinable and compatible with a wider range of steering wheels. However, the Playseat Trophy Logitech G Edition Gaming Chair offers a substantial upgrade over foldable systems and is an investment that racing game fanatics will find hard to resist.
