Sky TV customers can fix their mini box issues with a simple remote check

Sky TV customers have been urged to perform a quick remote check that can solve the problem of a mini box not turning on. Many customers have experienced frustration when their Sky Q mini box won't start, with the standby light remaining orange. However, the solution lies in the Sky Bluetooth remote, which may just need to be reset or have its batteries changed. If resetting the remote doesn't work, Sky is happy to replace faulty or damaged equipment.

The Problem Lies with the Sky Bluetooth Remote

Sky customers have been venting their frustrations on the company's help forum, with one customer stating that their mini box was not starting and the light on the box stayed orange. The issue, it turns out, is often with the Sky Bluetooth remote. Sometimes, the remote simply doesn't respond when it should.

How to Reset the Remote

To fix the issue, Sky TV customers should try switching on the Sky Q mini box by pressing the standby button on the front right, which glows orange/amber. If this successfully turns on the mini box, then grab the remote and long press buttons seven and nine together until the light on the box flashes four times. Next, make sure you are pointing the remote at the Q box and press buttons one and three together until the LED flashes. Then, follow the onscreen instructions to re-pair the remote.

Quick and Easy Remote Replacement

If the reset process doesn't solve the problem, Sky is ready to replace any faulty or damaged equipment. Customers can visit Sky's website and fill out a quick form to request a free remote replacement.
