A hacking expert at cybersecurity giant McAfee has revealed five dangerous text scams that you should be wary of.

Scam #1 - Bank Scams

One of the most common types of scams involves receiving an alert asking you to verify a large purchase. This is a ploy to trick you into logging in and inadvertently providing your personal information to scammers. Watch out for texts from banks you don't use or messages containing suspicious links.

Scam #2 - Gift Scams

Gift scams typically promise you a reward or prize, but often require you to pay a shipping fee or provide payment information. Be skeptical of texts that include links or ask for payment. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Scam #3 - Delivery Scams

Delivery scams alert you that a package couldn't be delivered and ask you to update your information to receive it. Be cautious if you aren't expecting a package or if the company is unfamiliar. Avoid clicking on suspicious links in the message.

Scam #4 - Job Scams
