Amazon Fire TV Stick Users Can Stop Friends and Family from Binge-Watching with this Handy PIN Trick

Amazon Fire TV Stick Users Can Stop Friends and Family from Binge-Watching with this Handy PIN Trick

Amazon Fire TV Stick users can now prevent others from binge-watching their favorite shows without permission. This trick also comes in handy for parents who want to restrict their kids from accessing certain apps.

How to Set Up PIN Passwords

To make use of this feature, all you have to do is access the parental controls and set up PIN passwords for your apps. With Amazon Fire TV, you can easily PIN-protect specific apps and purchases. This means that even the Prime Photos app can be kept private from prying eyes. Users will have to enter a four-digit number before entering an app or viewing certain content.

To set this up, simply follow these steps:

  1. Head to the Settings on your TV. This is usually indicated by a gear icon.
  2. Click on Preferences and select Parental Controls.
  3. Enter a PIN to activate the feature.
  4. Select the content you want to protect.

Amazon explains: "Depending on the options you turn on, you have to enter your PIN before watching videos in restricted categories, purchasing content, or opening apps." For instance, you can choose to PIN-protect content with ratings higher than PG.

Keep an Eye Out for Certain Apps

It's important to note that certain apps have their own parental controls. Apps like Netflix will require you to change their own parental control settings. These apps are easy to recognize because you won't be able to alter preferences for them in the Amazon Fire TV settings.

Now you can enjoy your favorite shows and keep your content secure from unwanted viewers!
