Sir Alex Ferguson Launches Fresh Assault on Racing's Biggest Prizes at Cheltenham

Sir Alex Ferguson Launches Fresh Assault on Racings Biggest Prizes at Cheltenham

Sir Alex Ferguson and Paul Nicholls Team Up Once Again

Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary former manager of Manchester United, is set to make a strong comeback in the world of jumps racing at Cheltenham on Friday. And this time, he will be joined by his old ally, trainer Paul Nicholls.

Exciting Horse Isaac Des Obeaux Takes Center Stage

Sir Alex Ferguson, along with close friend Ged Mason and the sons of late owner Paul Barber, co-owns the highly promising horse named Isaac Des Obeaux. The horse will be competing in a 2m4f Class 2 hurdle race worth over £10,000 to the winner. Isaac Des Obeaux's star power not only comes from his high-profile owners but also from his close relation to the impressive Clan Des Obeaux, a dual King George and Betway Bowl-winning chaser who earned over £1 million in prize money.

Trainer Nicholls Shares His Thoughts

Trainer Paul Nicholls expressed his excitement about the upcoming race, stating, "Isaac Des Obeaux is a three-parts brother to Clan Des Obeaux, and I was delighted with his debut win last season. Although he didn't progress as expected in subsequent races, he is now ready to start over hurdles after a successful wind operation in the summer."

Protektorat Joins Sir Alex's Team

In addition to Isaac Des Obeaux, Sir Alex Ferguson also has Protektorat in his racing stable. The horse, trained by Dan Skelton, will defend his Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock on November 25th.

Promising Start to the Jumps Season

If both Isaac Des Obeaux and Protektorat perform well in their respective races, it will be a highly encouraging start to the jumps season for Sir Alex Ferguson. This comes at a time when he is coping with the loss of his wife, Cathy, earlier this month.
