Tour de France WON’T finish in Paris for first time ever as chiefs forced to move final stages of iconic cycling race

The Tour de France will break tradition next year as it won't be finishing in Paris.

Change in Tradition

For the first time in the history of the race, the final stage will not conclude in the French capital.

Since its inception in 1903, the Tour de France has always ended in Paris.

New Route Revealed

The route for the 111th edition of the famous cycling race has been unveiled, featuring 21 stages.

However, in 2024, the final stage will start in Monaco and finish in Nice, breaking the long-standing tradition.

Individual Time Trial

For the first time since 1989, the final stage will be an individual time trial.

This change adds excitement to the race, as riders will battle against the clock to secure victory.

Olympic Games Clash

The decision to move the final stage away from Paris is due to the Olympic Games.

The summer games will begin just five days after the Tour de France ends, causing concerns about preparation.

Return to Italy

The Tour de France will also make a comeback to Italy for the first time since 2011.

The Grand Depart will take place in Florence, with the finish line in Rimini on the Adriatic coast.

Cavendish's Comeback

Mark Cavendish, a 34-stage winner, aims to claim victory in the upcoming Tour de France.

Cavendish, who had previously announced his retirement, recently decided to continue racing.

With just one more stage win, Cavendish will surpass the record he currently shares with cycling legend Eddie Merckx for most stage wins.
