Pep Guardiola Issues Warning to Man City Players After Jack Grealish Break-In

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that the club's players have been given special security instructions following a recent burglary at Jack Grealish's home. The midfielder's house was targeted by robbers who stole £1 million worth of watches and jewellery. Guardiola emphasized the importance of being cautious and careful in order to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Taking Security Measures

Guardiola confirmed that the players have received a presentation on enhancing their security measures in the aftermath of the Boxing Day raid. He expressed relief that Grealish and his family were unharmed, and mentioned that steps are being taken to ensure their safety moving forward.

The manager stated, "He’s had time to fix so it won’t happen again and the burglars have to know that there is no more jewellery at home so it’s not necessary. Joking aside, he’s fixing it to try to avoid it."

Guardiola also mentioned that the team's chief security officer is working closely with Grealish, as well as his family and partner Sasha Attwood, to address their concerns and provide support.

Stressing the Importance of Vigilance

Guardiola revealed that the City players were given a stern warning about the importance of staying vigilant during a security meeting last season. He emphasized that while living in an apartment in Manchester may offer some level of security, being in the countryside or away requires extra caution.

Reflecting on the impact of the burglary on Grealish's family, Guardiola said, "They’re impacted, which is normal. When you’re at home and you have people come inside, it’s scary. It’s normal. Try to be relaxed, make the perfect environment so it doesn’t happen again."

Grealish's Traumatic Experience

The raid on Grealish's £5.6 million home in Cheshire occurred just weeks after he moved in. His family, who were watching a match between City and Everton at the time, heard a noise from upstairs and had to take cover while the police arrived to ensure their safety.

Grealish later expressed his devastation over the incident, stating that it affected his ability to celebrate his achievements. He emphasized the importance of his family's well-being, saying, "My family mean the world to me and nothing is more important than ensuring their safety. This has been a traumatic experience for all of us."

The England international hopes that the perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice, so that no other family has to endure what they have experienced.
