Unconventional Lineup
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed his dream 5-a-side team, and it's certainly unconventional. The lineup includes no goalkeeper and no defenders, making it an unstoppable attacking force.
Lionel Messi Takes the Lead
Arteta spoke to Planet Football about his perfect 5-a-side squad and had one player that was a non-negotiable first man on the team sheet. He chose Lionel Messi, describing him as the most influential player in the history of football.
Adding Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario
Despite falling on the side of Messi in the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate, Arteta included both players in his team. He explained that he would put the other Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazario, alongside Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Attacking Midfielders
Arteta filled the remaining two spots with two attacking midfielders. He chose Johan Cruyff, whom he had always looked up to from his days in the Barcelona academy. And he added Diego Maradona as the cherry on top of his attacking team.

No Defenders, No Goalkeepers
Arteta made it clear that his 5-a-side team was all about attacking flair. He said, "No defenders! We don't have goalkeepers, it's five-a-side. No goalies." However, when pressed to choose a goalkeeper, he named his close friend Pepe Reina, with whom he came through the La Masia academy.
Reina, now 41 years old, still plays for Villarreal.
