Jake Paul had MMA fans in stitches as he donned a pair of MMA gloves while commentating on fights during the live broadcast of the Professional Fighters League final. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was being interviewed while reigning PFL champion Larissa Pacheco secured a win over Marina Mokhnatkina for the featherweight title. But out of nowhere, Paul, speaking from his £13million Puerto Rico mansion, decided to put on the gloves and join in on the commentary. Fans were left hilariously confused, with one asking why Paul was wearing gloves during the stream.
Smart Move or Shadow Boxing?
One fan added that Paul putting on the PFL gloves during the interview had the energy of shadow boxing in front of the mirror during ad breaks. Despite not being a fan of Paul, another viewer admitted that he was smart for doing so. This year, Paul signed with the PFL, a rival promotion to the UFC, which features qualification and knockout stages. The top four in each division progress to the finale fights where a title belt and $1million prize are on the line.
Paul's MMA Debut and Calling Out Diaz
However, the PFL is launching a "super-fight" series next year, separate from the regular season, and it will be the platform for Paul's MMA debut. After his win over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz in August, Paul offered to rematch Diaz in MMA. But the 26-year-old claims that Diaz has turned down a £10million offer to fight in the cage and took another swipe at his rival by saying, "He didn't want all that smoke. He's making excuses."
