Tom's girlfriend, Sash, took to social media to express her frustration. Despite living just eight miles apart, the couple had not seen each other for a week. Sash had been looking forward to their weekend off together, only to find out that Tom was planning to travel over five hours each way for the football match.

Tom's dedication to his team garnered widespread praise from fellow fans, who hailed him as a "legend." Unfortunately, his team let him down by throwing away a two-goal lead and drawing 2-2 at the Mazuma Stadium.

Still Together

Two years later, Sash confirmed that she and Tom are still a couple. They both reflected on the anniversary of the incident and acknowledged that nothing has changed.

Going the Extra Mile...Literally

This weekend, Tom is set to make an 800-mile round trip to watch Charlton take on Carlisle. Sash couldn't help but find the situation ironic, as it falls on their rare weekend off together. She shared on X (formerly Twitter), "Oh did I mention, Carlisle is an 800 mile round trip..."

Living Together

Sash also revealed that she and Tom now live together, which has made coordinating their schedules a bit easier. She jokingly added, "Good job we live together now."
