How Cristiano Ronaldo’s watch obsession has taken off in Saudi Arabia, with a £1.6m piece in his collection

CRISTIANO RONALDO'S love for watches has skyrocketed since he made the move to Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo's first watch in Saudi Arabia

From day one, Ronaldo's watch obsession was evident as he received a special gift, a one-of-a-kind Jacob & Co watch, to commemorate his move to Al-Nassr. The watch, made of 18K white gold and featuring an emerald green color to match the Saudi Arabian flag, is valued at £630,000.

The most expensive watch in Ronaldo's collection

But that's just a fraction of the value of the most expensive watch in Ronaldo's collection. He owns a Franck Muller Invisible Baguette Diamonds Imperial Tourbillon worth a staggering £1.6 million.

Ronaldo's watch habit

Ronaldo, who earns £3.3 million per week at Al-Nassr, is not afraid to spend big on his watch habit. Just five months into his Saudi stay, he received another Saudi-themed Jacob & Co. watch worth £92,000. This watch, called the 'Heart of CR7 Baguette,' features his iconic celebration on the back and is adorned with 26 baguette-cut white diamonds on the frame. In the same month, Ronaldo purchased a Jacob & Co. watch priced at £750,000.

Ronaldo becomes a shareholder in Chrono24

Not content with just acquiring watches, Ronaldo also became a shareholder in Chrono24, a luxury watch selling company. He purchased an undisclosed stake in the company, which is valued at around £770 million and receives over nine million monthly visitors to its website.

Ronaldo's watch collection

Ronaldo's watch collection is estimated to be worth £5 million, so he certainly has plenty to offer as gifts. Recently, he gifted former UFC champion Francis Ngannou a watch worth half a million Saudi riyals or £110,000 ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
