Glenn Hoddle Responds to David Beckham Netflix Documentary After Controversial Comments

Glenn Hoddle Opens Up

Former England boss Glenn Hoddle has finally broken his silence on David Beckham's recent Netflix documentary. The hit series, released last month, featured Beckham's wife Victoria and mother Sandra making scathing comments about Hoddle.

The 1998 World Cup Incident

The documentary explored Beckham's infamous red card against Argentina during the 1998 World Cup. Hoddle had previously claimed that Beckham was not focused on football due to his rising celebrity status. The midfielder was dropped for the opening game against Tunisia but later forced his way back into the team.

Hoddle's Response

Hoddle, appearing on talkSPORT, responded to the documentary, stating that he has no problem with Beckham and that he wishes him all the success. He also mentioned that Beckham's mother had made a comment about him, but he holds no grudge.

Beckham's Success

Despite the controversy, Beckham went on to win fans back over. He became England captain and the country's most capped outfield player, before being overtaken by Wayne Rooney. Beckham played two more times under Hoddle before the manager was sacked.

Overall, it seems that Hoddle and Beckham have moved on from the incident, with both focusing on their respective careers.
