The 40-year-old, who goes by the alias Patricia, leads the ELN's Northern War Front and has been involved in the conflict with the Colombian government for over half her life.

The ELN, a left-wing rebel group branded as a terrorist organization, has claimed responsibility for the abduction and has promised to release Luis Diaz's dad. However, there has been no official confirmation of his release, leading critics to doubt the credibility of the ELN's claim.

Patricia's Background and Role in the ELN

Patricia joined the ELN in 2006 and has risen through the ranks to become the leader of the December 6 Front and a senior member of the Northern War Front. The rebel group funds itself through criminal practices such as extortion and kidnapping.
