Loan Transfer to Boost Squad

Crystal Palace is looking to strengthen their squad with loan players following an injury to midfielder Cheikh Doucoure. The Eagles were initially focused on signing a right-back and striker, but now need to find midfield cover for Doucoure's absence.

Adam Wharton Emerges as a Top Target

Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton has caught the attention of Crystal Palace. The 19-year-old has impressed under Jon Dahl Tomasson at Ewood Park, attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Palace, Newcastle, Brighton, and Everton. Tottenham is also reportedly monitoring Wharton.

Doucoure's Season-Ending Injury

Cheikh Doucoure is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering an Achilles injury during a recent match against Luton. The 23-year-old was taken off on a stretcher and subsequent scans revealed the severity of the damage, leaving a significant void in Palace's midfield.

Contract Uncertainty for Right-Backs

Crystal Palace currently relies on Nathaniel Clyne and Joel Ward as their two recognized right-backs. However, both players' contracts are set to expire in the summer, adding another area of concern for the club.

Search for an Additional Striker

Manager Roy Hodgson is also keen on adding another striker to the squad. Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta have shared the No9 responsibilities this season, with Edouard scoring five goals in 12 Premier League appearances and Mateta yet to find the back of the net in ten games.
