Champion trainer Paul Nicholls Forced to Evacuate Horses Amid Flash Flood at Ditcheat Stables

Storm Henk Causes Chaos in Racing

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has been forced to evacuate horses from his Ditcheat stables due to a flash flood caused by Storm Henk. A photo posted online shows a worker carefully guiding one of the thoroughbreds through a river of water that had made its way into Nicholls' renowned yard. This incident is just another example of the chaos caused by Storm Henk in the racing world.

Racing Events Affected

The flash flood has had a significant impact on racing events. Sandown had to cancel its big card scheduled for tomorrow after the Surrey track experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday night. Similarly, Chepstow had to scrap its meeting for Sunday after being hit with over 140mm of rain earlier in the week.

Nicholls' Stable Stars Wait Patiently

Videos from Ditcheat show some of Paul Nicholls' stable stars waiting patiently in their boxes as the water reaches their doors. Several staff members were involved in ensuring the safety of the horses during the evacuation process.
