PSG Targets Bruno Guimaraes as Eddie Howe Responds

PSG's No.1 Transfer Target

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) football club has reportedly set its sights on Bruno Guimaraes as their top transfer target. The Brazilian midfielder, who was signed by Newcastle United for £43 million in January 2022, has emerged as one of the Premier League's most promising talents.

European Interest

Guimaraes' impressive performances have attracted attention from top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool. However, PSG seems determined to secure his services.

Agent Connection

According to ESPN, PSG's interest in Guimaraes is strengthened by his agent Giuliano Bertulucci's close relationship with the French champions. Bertulucci has previously facilitated transfers for other players, including Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo, to PSG.

A Hefty Price Tag

While PSG may have their sights set on Guimaraes, acquiring him won't come cheap. The midfielder recently signed a new five-year contract with Newcastle United, which reportedly includes a £100 million release clause.

Howe's Defiant Response

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe addressed PSG's reported interest in Guimaraes and expressed his desire to keep the talented midfielder at the club for as long as possible. Howe emphasized the importance of retaining key players in order to build a strong team.

Newcastle's Winter Window Plans

As the winter transfer window opens, Howe did not rule out the possibility of making incoming signings to bolster his squad's depth. He acknowledged the need to bring in new players due to current squad numbers but also mentioned the potential return of key players by the end of January.

Howe stated, "It's something we're working on behind the scenes. There's a lot of work that's gone on, that'll never stop regardless of how active you are in the market."

With PSG's interest in Guimaraes and Newcastle's determination to keep hold of their star midfielder, the transfer saga continues to unfold. Only time will tell if a deal will be struck between the two clubs.
