The Chancellor RISHI Sunak has been blasted for not wearing a mask or social distancing while dishing out meals at Wagamama restaurant. TRIANGLE NEWS 0203 176 5581 // contact@trianglenews.co.uk By Ralph Blackburn RISHI Sunak has been blasted for not wearing a mask or social distancing while dishing out meals at Wagamama restaurant. The Chancellor was promoting his Eat Out to Help Out scheme - which gives diners 50 per cent off their food dining out in August. Mr Sunak hopes this gets Brits into restaurants and pubs, which have been badly hit by the coronavirus lockdown. The 40-year-old served up two katsu curries at Wagamama - as part of press photo op - however he was blasted for not wearing any personal protective equipment or social distancing. The Chancellor can be seen walking out with two plates of food from the Japanese restaurant, without a mask or gloves. *TRIANGLE NEWS DOES NOT CLAIM ANY COPYRIGHT OR LICENSE IN THE ATTACHED MATERIAL. 'Eat Out to Help Out' Scheme in Question

Prof Dame Angela McClean, in her message to fellow expert Prof John Edmunds, referred to Mr Sunak as "Dr Death." This comment is believed to be linked to the 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme, which offered discounts to diners during the summer of 2020 after the first lockdown.

Fueling the Spread

Research has suggested that the scheme may have fueled the spread of the virus, leading to a bigger and deadlier wave in the winter. Prof Edmunds stated that the scheme "encouraged people to take an epidemiological risk."

Rishi Sunak's Role

Rishi Sunak became Chancellor just a month before the country went into lockdown in 2020. However, he resigned from his position on July 5, 2022, citing the need for competent and serious governance.
