TV Owners Are Missing Out on a Sky Remote Trick, Says Expert

TV Owners Are Missing Out on a Sky Remote Trick, Says Expert

Remote Problems? Try This Trick

A Sky TV expert has shared a useful tip for TV owners who are experiencing difficulties with their remote control. While many people assume that the batteries are the issue when the remote starts acting up, there could be another explanation.

Make the Switch: Bluetooth to Infrared

If your remote continues to give you trouble, consider switching from Bluetooth to infrared. While all Sky remotes use Bluetooth by default, they also have the option to be used with infrared. Bluetooth offers smoother connectivity and doesn't require the remote to be pointed directly at the TV. However, infrared can serve as a backup option if Bluetooth suddenly stops working. It is also ideal for those who want to use multiple Sky remotes at the same time, as Bluetooth only allows one remote per box.

To switch to infrared, simply press and hold buttons 4 and 6 on the remote until it blinks twice. To switch back to Bluetooth, press and hold the same buttons again.

TikToker and YouTuber Wades Ramsey shared this trick and other Sky tips on his channel.

Having Trouble Pairing Your Sky Q Remote?

If your Sky Q remote isn't pairing properly, there is another fix you can try. Press the 7 and 9 buttons simultaneously until the LED flashes four times. Then, point your remote at the Sky Q box and press 1 and 3 together until the LED flashes twice. Follow the on-screen instructions to re-pair the remote.

These simple tricks can help you get the most out of your Sky remote and enhance your TV viewing experience.
