Sky TV Customers Discover Hidden Netflix Menu to Recover Hacked Accounts with Secret Code

Sky TV customers have stumbled upon a little-known Netflix trick that can help them regain access to their accounts if they have been hacked into. It turns out there is a hidden menu that can only be unlocked with a secret code.

Sky Customer Uses Hidden Netflix Menu to Solve Hacking Problem

A Sky customer recently found this hidden menu after a hacker had locked them out of their Netflix account. Desperate for a solution, they took to a help forum on Sky's website to share their struggle.

"My Netflix account through my sky package has been hacked, email address changed and profile locked," they wrote. "The Netflix account through my true email account is now showing no active account and asks me to subscribe. Despite a couple of attempts with Netflix customer support they say they can't do anything without a service code."

According to the frustrated user, the service code was locked on the profile page and not visible on the Netflix homepage, leaving them stuck in a cycle with no solution in sight.

Unlocking the Hidden Menu

To break free from this frustration, the Sky customer discovered a hidden Netflix menu that allowed them to disconnect the "rogue account" from their Sky package. Here is how you can access it:

  1. Open the Netflix app and navigate to the screen with the random profile.
  2. Using the Sky remote, press the following buttons: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up.

Following this sequence should unlock the hidden menu.

Transferring Ownership Back with the Service Code

Once in the hidden menu, you will find a tab that displays the email address and the service code. Armed with this information, the Sky customer wrote in a later post, "Managed to get the service code through the up up, down, down etc hack from another thread which also showed what email address they'd changed my account to. With that info, Netflix were then able to remove them and change it back to my email which then recognised I had a subscription with them through Sky."

So, if you find yourself in a similar situation, don't despair. Give this hidden Netflix menu a try, and you might just be able to regain control of your hacked account!
