Nintendo players angry over bug crashing popular games – heres the fix

The Bug

Nintendo fans are up in arms over a new bug that is causing two of the most popular games on the Switch to crash at a crucial moment, making it impossible for players to finish them.

The Culprit

It seems that the introduction of The Teal Mask, the first DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, is to blame for these crashes. The release of this DLC prompted updates to the base games, which inadvertently triggered the bug and caused frustration for many players.

The Problem

The bug occurs during the Paradise Protection Protocol (PPP) fight, which is the final battle in the main game. After defeating the Paradox Pokémon, players need to swap in their own legendary Pokémon, Koraidon or Miraidon, to fight against the one summoned by the PPP. However, attempting to do so by scrolling through the Pokémon party triggers the bug and crashes the game, leaving players unable to complete the battle.

The Solution

Thankfully, some dedicated players have discovered a workaround for this pesky bug. By following these steps, you can avoid the crash and continue playing:

  1. Have Koraidon (S) or Miraidon (V) registered to the Pokédex.
  2. During the battle, hover over slot 4, 5, or 6 in your Pokémon party.
  3. Instead of scrolling down to swap in Koraidon or Miraidon, simply press the up button.

By pressing the up button, you will be taken directly to the legendary slot at the bottom of your party, bypassing the bug and allowing you to continue the battle and finish the main game.

Conclusion

So, don't let this frustrating bug ruin your gaming experience. Follow these simple steps to avoid the crash and enjoy the full Pokémon Scarlet & Violet experience!
