Too Many Devices = Poor Wi-Fi
If you're constantly struggling with slow internet speeds, it may be because someone is hogging all the data. While poor Wi-Fi can be caused by various factors, such as metal objects interfering with the signal, having too many devices connected to your Wi-Fi can also cause issues.
Streaming and Gaming: The Big Culprits
According to Vodafone, streaming movies and gaming are the main activities that can drain your broadband. While watching films or TV shows via streaming apps is usually fine, things can slow down if you and others in your household are all streaming in 4K simultaneously. The same goes for gaming, especially online gaming, which requires a significant amount of broadband data.
Gaming also puts a strain on the upload speed, meaning activities like making FaceTime calls while someone is playing PlayStation or Xbox can be impacted.
'Network Traffic' and Wi-Fi Speed
Vodafone explains that when there is a large amount of data moving across a network at any given time, referred to as 'network traffic', your Wi-Fi may be slightly slower. However, it should improve when fewer people are connected.

Time to Limit the Kids?
If it seems like your kids are hogging all the Wi-Fi with excessive gaming, it might be time to set limits and see if it boosts your connection speed.
