The issue was first flagged by users who reported the problem to Down Detector, a website that tracks online service outages. Reports of the Grindr outage started pouring in around 7pm UK time, with users from the UK, Europe, and the US all claiming to be affected. As of 7pm GMT on October 3, over 1,000 reports were registered on Down Detector's UK site, indicating the scale of the problem.
