I nearly spat out my coffee this morning when I tallied up what Amazon's giving away this month. £387 worth of free games?! And here I was thinking Prime was just about getting my panic-ordered birthday presents delivered before my nephew's party.
Listen. I've been an Amazon Prime member since 2016 when I reluctantly signed up during a moment of weakness (needed next-day delivery on a replacement kettle after mine dramatically died mid-brew). Back then, I had absolutely no idea they'd eventually be throwing video games at me like they're going out of fashion.
The motherlode has arrived
This month's haul is frankly ridiculous - 22 games that would normally cost you nearly four hundred quid. I spent an embarrassing amount of time yesterday evening scrolling through Steam to verify the prices, and yep, it all adds up to £386.94. Not too shabby for something that's essentially a bonus on top of your regular Prime perks.
The games are dropping in batches every Thursday throughout May, with the first bunch available right now.

Got kids? These two will save your sanity
My sister's two monsters (lovingly referred to as the chaos twins) visited last weekend and absolutely lost their minds over LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. It's worth about £17 on its own, but watching a 7-year-old experience the joy of Lego-ified lightsaber battles? Priceless.
There's also this adorable farming game called Everdream Valley dropping on the 15th that supports co-op for up to four players. Perfect for when you need 45 minutes of peace to answer work emails or, in my case, hide in the bathroom scrolling through Twitter.
Wait... Wolfenstein II is on the list?!
For us grown-ups, there's some seriously premium stuff in here. They're giving away the Digital Deluxe Edition of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus next week - that's a £50 game! I paid full price for this back in 2018 like a complete mug.
And if you enjoy being terrified (why do we do this to ourselves?), Amnesia: Rebirth is also up for grabs. My housemate tried playing it with the lights off last Halloween and... well, let's just say the neighbors probably thought someone was being murdered.

How to actually get your hands on these
It's dead simple. Head over to the Prime Gaming website, log in with your Amazon account, and claim whatever takes your fancy. Once claimed, they're yours to keep forever - even if you cancel Prime later on.
But here's teh catch - you've gotta claim 'em while they're available. Miss the window, and they vanish into the digital abyss. I learned this the hard way after forgetting to grab Fallout 3 last year. Still kicking myself.

The cherry on top nobody talks about
Oh, and before I forget - your Prime membership also includes a free monthly subscription to any Twitch channel. That's another fiver a month you're leaving on the table if you're not using it.
My monthly sub goes to this hilariously bad chess streamer who once thanked me by attempting (and spectacularly failing) to chug an entire can of energy drink. Worth every penny I didn't actually spend.
Seriously though, if you're already paying for Prime adn not claiming these games, you're basically setting money on fire. Even if you only grab a couple that interest you, it's still a bargain.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to clear some hard drive space...
