Alexa to Stop Working on Some Devices This Week – Users Must Act Now!

Alexa enthusiasts, brace yourselves! The popular voice assistant will no longer be functioning on certain devices starting this week unless a crucial change is made.

Affected Devices: Not Amazon Echo

Thankfully, if you own an Amazon Echo speaker or display, you can breathe a sigh of relief as Alexa will continue to work seamlessly. However, for those using Google Nest kit, prepare for some alterations.

Google Ends Support for Legacy Nest Skills

Google has announced that it will no longer be supporting legacy Nest skills for Alexa, with the shutdown set to occur on Friday, September 29.

New Google Nest Skill

But fear not, Alexa users! Google has introduced a new skill that has been available for quite some time now. If you are already using this skill, these changes will not affect you. However, if you are still utilizing the legacy Alexa skill, you will need to make some adjustments to your account in order to continue controlling your smart Nest devices with the voice assistant.
