Vinicius Jr hails Jude Bellingham as Real Madrids new Cristiano Ronaldo, but the stats reveal a surprising truth

Vinicius Jr couldn't help but compare Jude Bellingham to Cristiano Ronaldo following Real Madrid's thrilling 2-1 win against Barcelona.

Stats reveal Bellingham's potential

However, a closer look at the stats from their first ten LaLiga games suggests that Bellingham might actually be even better than Ronaldo.

Bellingham, who is only 20 years old, scored both goals in the match, including a stunning 25-yard strike and a last-minute winner, to turn the game around after being 1-0 down.

Vinicius Jr was full of praise for his teammate, saying, "Jude Bellingham is incredible, he always makes a difference and the fans got used to Cristiano Ronaldo and now one more has arrived for us."

Comparing the arrivals

When Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009, he was already 24 years old and had achieved significant success, including a Ballon d'Or, Champions League victory, and three Premier League titles with Manchester United.

In contrast, Bellingham arrived at Real Madrid at the age of 20 from Borussia Dortmund in a £115 million transfer, without the same level of accomplishments as Ronaldo.

Stats don't lie

But the stats tell a different story. Bellingham has scored ten goals in his first ten LaLiga games, surpassing Ronaldo's tally of seven goals.

While Ronaldo's start in Spain was hampered by an ankle injury, allowing him to complete the full 90 minutes in just five of his first ten matches, Bellingham has hit the ground running.

Bellingham has also provided two assists so far this season, while Ronaldo managed only one during the same period.

Efficiency matters

In terms of efficiency, Bellingham has scored ten goals from just 24 shots, compared to Ronaldo's seven goals from 60 shots.

Bellingham has also been more accurate, hitting the target 17 times compared to Ronaldo's 22 out of 60 attempts.

Furthermore, Bellingham has an astonishing goal every 86 minutes, while Ronaldo averaged a goal every 112 minutes during his time at Real Madrid.

The challenge ahead

While Bellingham's early performances have been impressive, it will be a tough task to maintain Ronaldo's pace in the long run.

Ronaldo went on to score a remarkable 450 goals in 438 appearances for Real Madrid, winning four Ballons d'Or and four Champions League titles along the way.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has predicted that Bellingham could reach a goal tally of 20-25 this season, surpassing Zinedine Zidane's best-ever LaLiga season goal record of nine.

Time will tell if Bellingham can continue to shine and live up to Vinicius Jr's comparison to Ronaldo. But for now, the young English talent is making waves in his debut season for Real Madrid.

Teammate Luka Modric also praised Bellingham's talent and goal-scoring ability, saying, "He's a top boy, with an extraordinary talent. I don't think even he can believe he's scoring so many goals...I congratulate him and I hope he keeps going, he can't slow down!"
