UFC Star Mick Parkin Living the Dream After O2 Arena Debut

UFC Debut

Mick Parkin, the undefeated heavyweight prospect, is still on cloud nine after making his UFC debut. Last August, he punched his ticket to the UFC on Dana White’s Contenders Series with a first-round submission win over Eduardo Jose Neves.

Debut at The O2

Parkin's first walk to the octagon took place on the UFC London prelims in July. The Sunderland slugger dominated American Jamal Pogues on his way to a decision victory, experiencing an amazing feeling at The O2.

Reaching the Pinnacle

For MMA fighters, the UFC is the pinnacle of the sport. Parkin, who used to be a doorman, spoke about the long process of getting to the UFC and how it's a dream come true for him.

From Doorman to UFC Fighter

Parkin used to work as a doorman on the weekends to support himself while training full time. He acknowledged the dedication of fighters who work full-time jobs and still train, but he took the easy option of working weekends and training full-time.

Next Fight

Parkin's second octagon outing sees him travel to Sao Paulo to take on fellow Contenders Series graduate Caio Machado. He believes it's a great match-up for him and his style.

Busy 2024

Parkin is hoping to have a busy 2024, with three or four fights a year. He aims to make a serious impact on the division and eventually push into the top 15.
