UFC 300 Plans for Conor McGregor 'CHANGING' After Dana White Claims Star Will Return in Summer, Says MMA Insider

UFC 300 Plans for Conor McGregor CHANGING After Dana White Claims Star Will Return in Summer, Says MMA Insider

The UFC is reportedly reconsidering their plans to have Conor McGregor headline UFC 300, according to insider sources. McGregor was expected to make his highly anticipated return at the historic April event, but UFC President Dana White recently stated that the Irishman will be back in the summer.

UFC Considering a U-Turn?

MMA insider Ariel Helwani has revealed that the promotion is seemingly changing their stance on McGregor headlining UFC 300. This comes as a surprise, as McGregor's return was highly anticipated by fans.

McGregor's Coach Hints at a July Return

McGregor's head coach recently hinted that the fighter could return in July. However, Helwani's comments suggest that the UFC may have a change of heart.

Missing Out on UFC 300

If McGregor is not the headliner for UFC 300, it would mean that the UFC could potentially have two massive pay-per-view events this year. Helwani believes that McGregor's star power alone would make UFC 300 a guaranteed success.

McGregor's Plea to the UFC

McGregor, who hasn't fought since breaking his leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, is eager to get back in the octagon. He recently pleaded with the UFC to give him a date for his return, expressing his frustration at being kept away from his livelihood.

Despite not knowing who his opponent will be, McGregor is ready to fight anyone and is just waiting for the UFC to give him the green light.

It remains to be seen if the UFC will change their plans for UFC 300 and grant McGregor his wish.
