Tottenham Eyeing Uruguay International Sebastian Caceres Amid Defensive Crisis

Injuries Plague Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur has been hit with an injury crisis ahead of the recent international break, leaving the club short of defensive options. Summer signing Mickey Van de Ven and full-back Ivan Perisic are both out with injuries, while Ryan Sessegnon is also sidelined. As a result, Tottenham is now on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.

Sebastian Caceres on Tottenham's Radar

According to football reporter Mike McGrath, Tottenham is considering a move for Uruguayan center-back Sebastian Caceres. The 24-year-old currently plays for Liga MX club America and has just one year left on his contract. Newcastle and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the defender.

Impressive International Performances

Caceres made his debut for the Uruguay national team in a 1-0 defeat to Iran last year. Since then, he has made nine appearances for his country and has been impressive on the international stage.

Transfer Fee

Club America, Caceres' current club, is reportedly demanding a minimum of £4.3 million for the defender.
