Ronnie O'Sullivan Considered Hip Replacement to Boost Snooker Game

Ronnie OSullivan Considered Hip Replacement to Boost Snooker Game

Rocket Ronnie Reveals Extreme Measures in New Documentary

Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan has shocked fans by admitting that he considered getting a hip replacement to improve his game, even though there was nothing wrong with his joint. The five-time world champion revealed this bizarre revelation in his new documentary, "Ronnie O'Sullivan: The Edge of Everything," which is set to be released this week. In the film, O'Sullivan reflects on his extraordinary career and opens up about his battles with depression and a dysfunctional upbringing.

The Wooden Leg Idea

O'Sullivan didn't stop at considering a hip replacement. He also contemplated sawing off his left leg and replacing it with a wooden one to improve his stance on the snooker table. The 47-year-old explained that he believed his hip was swiveling too much, affecting his shots. Although his father thought he was crazy, O'Sullivan considered it a sensible solution to enhance his game. He wanted to be a snooker purist and would go to great lengths to win titles.

The Documentary

"The Edge of Everything" delves into O'Sullivan's life and career, shedding light on his struggles and triumphs. It covers his relationship with his father, who was sent to prison for murder in 1992, and how he almost quit snooker during that difficult time. The documentary also captures O'Sullivan's journey to winning his seventh world title in 2022 and the doubts and pressures he faced during the final. Behind-the-scenes footage shows O'Sullivan opening up to psychiatrist Steve Peters about the immense pressure he feels and how snooker provides solace in his chaotic life.

An Emotional Victory

O'Sullivan ultimately triumphed in the final against Judd Trump, winning 18-13. After the match, he shared an emotional moment with his opponent, which is revealed for the first time in the documentary. O'Sullivan's words of encouragement and admiration for Trump show the respect he has for the younger player. The film captures the raw emotions and vulnerability of O'Sullivan, giving fans a deeper understanding of the man behind the cue.
