Joao Mendes struggling to make an impact at Barcelona B

Ronaldinho's son, Joao Mendes, has reportedly found himself "stuck in the shadows" since joining Barcelona B earlier this year. Despite his superstar father's legacy at the club, Mendes has struggled to make his mark and has only played a total of 89 minutes this season.

A slow start for Mendes

Mendes made his debut in a friendly against Manchester United youth team back in February, but his game time has been limited since then. He had to wait two months for his next game and only recently started against Damm earlier this month.

Sharing his journey on Instagram

With over 543,000 followers on Instagram, Mendes regularly shares photos of himself on the pitch. He also posted pictures of himself with Giovanna Buscacio, wishing her a happy birthday a few weeks ago.

Ronaldinho's support

After Mendes signed for Barcelona, Ronaldinho expressed his excitement, saying, "Barcelona is part of life. Wherever I go I take Barcelona with me. With the arrival of my son at Barca, I'll be more present than ever."

Future at Barcelona B

Mendes' current deal is understood to run until the end of the season. Only time will tell if he can break free from the shadows and make a name for himself at the club.
