Rio Ferdinand Forced to Pull Out of Champions League Coverage Due to Illness

Rio Ferdinand, the Manchester United legend, was unable to continue his coverage of the Champions League for TNT Sports on Tuesday after falling ill, according to reports.

Ferdinand's Unexpected Absence

During the broadcast, Ferdinand was last seen alongside Laura Woods, Jermaine Jenas, and Shay Given before the Newcastle vs Paris Saint-Germain match. However, it was later confirmed that he had to leave the coverage due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Ferdinand Taken Ill During the Match

According to the Daily Mail, Ferdinand fell ill during the match and subsequently returned to his hotel to rest. Fortunately, he is now feeling better and is expected to make a return to screens tonight to cover Manchester United's match against Galatasaray from Rams Park in Istanbul.

Ally McCoist Steps In

Stepping in for Ferdinand at full-time was Rangers legend Ally McCoist, who had previously been commentating on Newcastle's visit to PSG. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, marked by a controversial 98th-minute penalty.
