Premier League flop somehow fluffs worst miss ever seen that 2 year old wouldve scored – but gets away with it

Football fans in the UK couldn't help but laugh at Ajax star Steven Berghuis after he produced what some are calling the "worst miss ever seen" on the field. The Netherlands international, who had a brief stint with Premier League side Watford, found himself just five yards away from an open goal after receiving a pass across the box. It seemed impossible for him to miss, but somehow he managed to mis-control the ball, leading to a missed opportunity.

Social media mocks Berghuis

Despite the offside flag being raised, fans on social media wasted no time in mocking Berghuis for his blunder. One fan said, "Berghuis with one of the worst misses you'll ever see πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ," while another simply commented, "Hurts to watch." One person even joked, "My two-year-old baby would have scored this 😭."

Missed chance costs Ajax

Ajax was leading PEC Zwolle 2-1 at the time of Berghuis' embarrassing miss. However, they ended up surrendering their lead as Lennart Thy scored his second goal in the 89th minute, resulting in a draw for the visitors. Ajax currently sits fifth in the Eredivisie, trailing 23 points behind PSV Eindhoven, who have yet to drop a single point this season. Additionally, Ajax has dropped down to the Europa Conference League after finishing third in their Europa League group.
