Pep Guardiola Takes a Swipe at Mikel Arteta in Post-Match Interview

Pep Guardiola Takes a Swipe at Mikel Arteta in Post-Match Interview

Guardiola's Brutal Dig

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, couldn't resist taking a dig at Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, during a post-match interview following City's 3-3 draw with Tottenham. Guardiola made a joke about Arteta's infamous outburst after Newcastle's win over Arsenal.

The Controversial Referee Decision

The interview was sparked by a referee decision in the game, where Simon Hooper pulled the game back for a foul on Erling Haaland instead of playing advantage when Jack Grealish was through on goal in the 94th minute. The decision left Haaland fuming and Guardiola seemingly felt the same emotions.

Guardiola's Response

When asked about the referee's call, Guardiola simply responded with "Next question" before adding, "I will not do a Mikel Arteta [style] comment." This was a clear swipe at Arteta's previous comments about refereeing decisions.

City's Performance and Disappointment

Despite the draw, Guardiola praised his team's performance, stating that they put in an incredible performance in all departments. However, he expressed disappointment at not getting the win and compared it to the ups and downs of life, saying, "sometimes you don't get what you deserve."
