Nicky Henderson Apologizes as Biggest Names Withdrawn from Tingle Creek Day at Sandown

Constitution Hill, Shishkin, and Willmount Pulled Out

Nicky Henderson, the boss at Seven Barrows, has issued an apology to punters after deciding to withdraw his biggest names from Tingle Creek day at Sandown. Constitution Hill, Shishkin, and Willmount will not be participating in the blockbuster eight-race card.

Chantry House and Impose Toi May Also Be Scratched

Chantry House and Impose Toi are also at risk of being withdrawn from the event. An early morning inspection confirmed that the track is suitable for racing, but rain continues to fall, potentially affecting the participation of these two horses.

Constitution Hill's Debut Delayed

Racing fans will have to wait to see reigning Champion Hurdle king and unbeaten superstar Constitution Hill in action. He was scheduled to start his season in the rearranged Fighting Fifth, which was moved from a cancelled Newcastle last weekend. However, Henderson made the decision to pull him out due to the extremely testing going.

Henderson's Statement

In a statement, Henderson explained the reason behind his decision: "Due to the extremely testing going, we have decided that Constitution Hill will not run in today's Fighting Fifth at Sandown because it would simply not be fair to race him under such extreme conditions on his first run of the season. It is too close to Boxing Day, and he can't do both, so, all being well, he will now go straight to Kempton for the Christmas Hurdle."

Henderson also confirmed that Shishkin and Willmount have been withdrawn from their intended engagements in the Listed Novices' Hurdle.

Regarding the participation of Impose Toi and Chantry House, Henderson stated that he will speak to JP (owner J.P. McManus) about their involvement. However, the good news is that Jonbon will still be taking part in the Tingle Creek, as he has already had a run and the ground is more suitable on the chase course.

Henderson Puts Horses First

While it is unfortunate that these top names won't be competing, Henderson emphasized that the well-being of the horses is the priority. He said, "It is very unfortunate, and we are all sorry they won't be turning up, but we have to put the horses first. It's as simple as that."
