Neil Warnock On Verge of Return to Former Club as Manager Set to Take Second Job Since Retirement Announcement

Legendary manager Neil Warnock, 74, is reportedly set to make a comeback at Queens Park Rangers (QPR) after leaving Huddersfield. This would be his second job since announcing his retirement.

QPR Approach Warnock for Managerial Position

Following a 2-1 defeat to Leicester, QPR sacked Gareth Ainsworth as their manager. Now, it seems that the club is looking to bring back Warnock, who has had two previous managerial stints at QPR. According to Sky Sports, talks are set to take place between Warnock and the club for the vacant managerial position.

QPR's Struggles in the Championship

Currently sitting 23rd in the Championship, QPR has had a difficult start to the season, winning just two out of their 14 games. They are six points away from safety and are hoping that Warnock's return can turn their fortunes around.

A Journeyman Manager

Warnock has had an illustrious managerial career, with spells at various clubs including Rotherham, Cardiff, Middlesbrough, and Huddersfield. He first took charge at QPR in 2010 before leaving in 2012. He then returned in an advisory role in 2015 and briefly served as a caretaker boss. Warnock left his role as an advisor in February 2016. Despite announcing his retirement in April 2022, he could now be stepping back into the management world.

Warnock's departure from Huddersfield

When leaving Huddersfield, Warnock made it clear that it was the club's decision. He stated, "But I always told him I'd do it until they were ready and then if they let me know I'd go, and they have let me know so you can't say fairer than that. I've not fallen out with anybody. Jake's come to me and said they want to move on and management's the next step. I think management is the biggest decision they'll have to make really."

Warnock's potential return to QPR is generating excitement among fans and the footballing world as they wait to see if the veteran manager can lead the club to success once again.
