Ajax Hit Rock Bottom with Defeat to PSV

Dutch Giants at the Bottom of the Table

Ajax's season took another blow as they were thrashed 5-2 by rivals PSV Eindhoven, leaving them at the bottom of the Eredivisie table. The team has had a disastrous start to the season, winning only one out of their eight league games.

Managerial Changes Fail to Stop the Slide

After their poor performance, Ajax sacked manager Maurice Steijn and brought in Hedwiges Maduro as caretaker boss. However, the change has not been able to turn their fortunes around.

Humiliating Defeat to PSV

Ajax suffered a humiliating loss to PSV, despite initially taking the lead. Branco van den Boomen's early goal put Ajax in front, but PSV's Hirving Lozano quickly equalized. Brian Brobbey restored Ajax's lead before PSV's Luuk de Jong leveled the score again. Ismael Saibari then gave PSV the lead, and Lozano completed his hat-trick to seal a 5-2 victory for PSV.

Embarrassing Records for Ajax

This defeat has led to several humiliating records for Ajax. They are currently at the bottom of the league for the first time in their history, just four years after reaching the Champions League semi-finals. Additionally, they have experienced five consecutive Eredivisie losses for the first time. Furthermore, Ajax has already conceded 21 goals in just eight league games this season, surpassing the 19 goals they conceded in Erik ten Hag's last campaign in charge.
