Mason Greenwood Caught in Spanish Transfer Frenzy

Mason Greenwood Caught in Spanish Transfer Frenzy

Mason Greenwood, the 22-year-old Manchester United striker, is set to be the subject of a bidding war among Spanish clubs this summer, according to sources. Greenwood has been on loan at Getafe this season and has impressed with his performance, scoring four times in 11 starts.

Valencia and Real Sociedad Interested

Valencia and Real Sociedad are said to be closely monitoring Greenwood and could make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window. Scouts from both clubs have reportedly been impressed with the England striker's goal-scoring ability.

"Mason has done brilliantly since he moved to Spain and is really catching the eye after a strong start to his time at Getafe," said an insider. "There are a number of clubs looking at him in Spain with scouts from Valencia and Sociedad seemingly at the front of the queue."

It is unlikely that Greenwood will return to Manchester United, as he has settled well in Spain. The player is said to be grateful for the support and opportunities given to him by Getafe and may even consider making his move there permanent at the end of the season.

However, if Greenwood continues to perform at his current level, other clubs are likely to make bids and offers, leaving him and Getafe with a decision to make.

United Linked with Timo Werner

Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Timo Werner, the former Chelsea striker. United manager Erik Ten Hag is looking to strengthen his attack, and Werner has caught his attention.

However, this news hasn't been received well by some United fans, who believe Greenwood should be given a second chance instead. Ten Hag, however, seems to have made up his mind about Greenwood's future, stating that the young striker is not part of his long-term plans.

Greenwood, who has had a challenging year, is optimistic about his career prospects and feels that his time at Getafe has been a turning point for him.
