Manchester United eyeing Everton stars as financial troubles mount

Manchester United eyeing Everton stars as financial troubles mount

United's interest in Onana and Branthwaite

Manchester United could potentially make a move for Everton stars Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite if the club's financial problems worsen, according to reports. United have a long-standing interest in midfielder Onana and considered signing him in the summer. Meanwhile, young defender Branthwaite has caught the eye of the Red Devils with his impressive performances.

Everton facing compensation claim

On top of their current woes, Everton could also be hit with a £300 million compensation claim from Leeds, Leicester, and Burnley. If ordered to pay up, the club may be forced to enter administration as their new owners, 777Partners, are reportedly unable to cover the cost.

Forced to sell prized assets

With financial uncertainty looming, Everton may be compelled to sell some of their key players. This could potentially open the door for Manchester United to make a move for Onana and Branthwaite.

United's four-man shortlist

In addition to Onana and Branthwaite, Manchester United have drawn up a four-man shortlist for potential defensive signings. This includes Jean-Clair Todibo, who plays for Ratcliffe-owned Nice.
