Former Charlton boss Dean Holden also on shortlist
Ex-Charlton boss Dean Holden, 44, is being considered for a managerial return at struggling Salford. He is one of three candidates on the shortlist for the role.
Ryan Giggs, a potential candidate
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, 50, is also being considered for the Salford manager's job. Giggs, along with other members of the Class of 92, invested in Salford in 2014. The club has enjoyed success with four promotions in five years.
Salford's Premier League dream under threat
Despite the ambitious owners' goal of guiding Salford into the Premier League, the club is now facing the possibility of relegation back to non-league football. Salford has struggled in recent league games, failing to secure a win in their last nine matches.
