Manchester United legend Roy Keane has declared himself the real-life version of Ebenezer Scrooge this Christmas season. In a surprising twist, Keane has revealed that he refuses to participate in the gift-giving tradition.

Keane insists Christmas gifts is only 'for children'

According to the Sky Sports pundit, Christmas presents are strictly for children and have no place in adult celebrations. Keane, known for his no-nonsense attitude, stated that gifts only bring stress and should be avoided.

While Keane does partake in the traditional Christmas meal of turkey with his family, he firmly believes that presents are unnecessary and only cause unnecessary pressure.

During an appearance on the Stick to Football podcast, Keane made his stance clear: "No, no, I won't be buying anyone anything. I just think it's for children. Of course I do [eat turkey on Christmas Day]. We celebrate it, of course. But we don't go stressing each other out buying each other presents. It's stress."

Keane's fellow pundits, including Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, and Ian Wright, attempted to bring some Christmas cheer, but were met with Keane's unwavering refusal to budge.

Despite his Grinch-like attitude, fans found Keane's comments amusing and took to social media to express their amusement. Some even showed their support for the former United player.

One fan tweeted, "If this man said the earth was flat then flat the earth is. No more to say. F*****g love Roy."

Another wrote, "Can we get t-shirts that say 'Roy is my spirit animal'?"

While opinions may be divided on Keane's Christmas stance, one thing is for sure - he certainly knows how to make a statement.
