While Nuno Espirito Santo's revamped Forest secured a 2-1 victory, with Elanga providing the match-winning assist for Morgan Gibbs-White, it was Elanga's post-substitution gesture that infuriated Man Utd fans.

As he made his way to the sideline in the 87th minute, fans noticed the 21-year-old smiling and pointing to his Nottingham Forest club badge.

On social media, one fan reacted to the act, saying: "Elanga pointing to the Forest badge as he’s subbed off smiling 😭😭😭😭."

Another fan commented: "Elanga pointing to the Forest badge when he comes off. What a nerd."

A third fan questioned: "What’s that nonsense touching of the badge that Elanga is doing?"

One angry fan expressed: "Elanga pointing to the Forest badge what a snake."

Elanga's six assists this season are double the number of any other Man Utd player.

The victory for Nottingham Forest propelled them to 15th place in the table and put them five points clear of the relegation zone.
