Man Utd and Man City Stars of Famous 6-1 Derby: Where Are They Now?

Retiring with Heart Issues

Sergio Aguero, the Argentine superstar who went on to become the all-time leading scorer for Manchester City, unfortunately had his career cut short due to a heart condition. He announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33, just months after joining Barcelona.

Rejoining Red Devils

David de Gea, the goalkeeper for Manchester United during that infamous 6-1 defeat, is currently unemployed after failing to agree on a new deal with the Red Devils. There are rumors that he may rejoin United on a free transfer. Additionally, Jonny Evans, who made a surprise comeback to Old Trafford this summer, has been playing as a center-back for the team.

Retired and Enjoying Success as TV Pundits

Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, who were both part of the defense during the 6-1 defeat, have retired from professional football and are now enjoying success as TV pundits.

Still Playing in the Premier League

Ashley Young, who was one of United's wingers that afternoon, is still playing at the age of 38 for Everton. Nani, the other winger, is playing for Turkish club Adana Demirspor. Chris Smalling, who was the right-back for United, is currently at Roma.
