Everton Fans Mourn Loss
Kate McCann, the mother of missing girl Madeleine McCann, attended the funeral of Bill Kenwright, the late chairman of Everton Football Club. Kenwright, who was also a former Coronation Street star, passed away in October after battling cancer.
A Family of Everton Supporters
The McCann family has long been known for their support of Everton Football Club. In one of the final photos of Madeleine McCann before her disappearance, she is seen wearing an Everton shirt. Kate McCann was seen wearing an Everton scarf as she arrived at the memorial service for Kenwright.
Club Support in Difficult Times
After Madeleine McCann went missing in 2007, Everton Football Club rallied behind her family. Former captain Philip Neville made a plea for her safe return, and the club launched an international campaign to keep her in people's minds. Kenwright himself spoke about the importance of finding Madeleine and the club's supporters wore T-shirts with a message of hope.
Devastation at the Loss
Kenwright's partner Jenny Seagrove and daughter Lucy expressed their devastation at his passing. They described his death as peaceful and surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with illness.
