Liverpool Cult Hero Andrea Dossena Looks Unrecognizable in New Management Career

From Skinhead to Long Locks

A Liverpool cult hero now looks completely different after taking up a career in management. The star only played with the Reds for two seasons, joining to fill the void left by the departing John Arne Riise. The former Liverpool star has swapped his skinhead look for a long head of hair. He now manages Serie C side Pro Vercelli.

Impressive Stint with Liverpool

In that time, the star scored two goals for Liverpool in 31 appearances. One of those goals, which would prove to be his only goal in England for the club, came against arch rivals Manchester United in a 4-1 win under Rafael Benitez in March 2009. His other goal for the Reds came four days prior in the Champions League against Real Madrid.

Journey from Italy to England and Back

The Italian could play as a left-back or left winger and made a name for himself for his impact off the bench. He originally headed to Anfield from Udinese in a deal reported to be worth £7 million in 2008. However, now managing Serie C side Pro Vercelli, his new career has also taken on a fresh look with a long head of hair.

A Career in Management

After retiring from professional football in 2017, Dossena made his first foray into management in 2019 with Serie D side Crema. He then had stints with Ravenna and Serie C club Renate before landing his current role with Pro Vercelli. Things are not going too badly either, with the club currently seventh in the division after the first 14 games of the season.
