Lewis Hamilton Would Love to Drive Red Bulls F1 Car as He Reflects on Difficult Years at Mercedes

Hamilton's Desire to Drive Red Bull's Dominant Car

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he would "love" to drive Red Bull's Formula One car. Mercedes has faced challenges in the past couple of years with the introduction of new F1 car designs. Despite finishing as the best of the rest in the 2023 drivers championship, Hamilton has not won a race in two years due to the dominance of Red Bull.

Red Bull's Unprecedented Success

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen had an exceptional season, securing a record-breaking 19 race wins. The team's brainiac designer, Adrian Newey, has already stated that their car evolution plan for next year will be difficult for anyone to catch up to. Hamilton recognizes the dominance of Red Bull and believes that every driver on the grid would love to drive their car.

Hamilton's Confidence in Mercedes

Despite the challenges, Hamilton has faith in Mercedes' ability to recreate the winning formula that led to his previous world titles. He believes that working with his team to build a car capable of beating Red Bull would be better for his legacy than stepping into the most dominant car of all time.

Mercedes' Team Principal's Support

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has backed Hamilton to compete for the title in 2024, as long as the team delivers a car capable of keeping up with Red Bull. Wolff acknowledges the opportunities and risks that come with a completely new car for the upcoming season but has confidence in Hamilton's ability to fight for the championship.

Verstappen's Record-Breaking Season

Max Verstappen achieved several records with Red Bull in 2023, including the sport's longest race-winning streak of ten and becoming the first driver to lead 1000 laps in a season.
