Arsenal and Manchester United Goalkeepers Disappoint
Former footballers Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane have identified the biggest flops of the Premier League season. According to the duo, two goalkeepers have been a massive disappointment for their respective teams, causing them to go "backwards".
Both Arsenal and Manchester United sought to strengthen their goalkeeping position in the summer transfer window. Erik ten Hag, manager of Arsenal, brought in Inter Milan's Andre Onana for a hefty fee of £43.8 million. However, since his arrival, Onana has faced criticism from fans and pundits regarding his performance.
Similarly, Mikel Arteta, manager of Manchester United, recruited David Raya as a rival to long-time number one Aaron Ramsdale. This decision has divided fans, with many questioning whether Raya was the right choice.

Keane specifically criticized Andre Onana, stating that he has been "struggling" to fill the shoes of David de Gea, who left Manchester United last season. Carragher also expressed his disappointment in Onana, but he added that David Raya has also been "quite poor" for Arsenal.
Fans Remain Unconvinced
Despite their respective transfers, fans are still not convinced that Raya and Onana are better than their predecessors. Aaron Ramsdale, who has been Manchester United's number one for most of the season, has yet to be fully replaced by Raya. Furthermore, Raya's performance during the recent match against Luton did not help his case, as he made two costly mistakes resulting in goals for the opposing team.
However, Arsenal managed to secure a 4-3 victory thanks to Declan Rice's last-minute winner.
