Grand National-winning jockey Graham Lee in intensive care with neck injury after horror fall at Newcastle Racecourse

Former Grand National winner Graham Lee is currently in intensive care after a terrifying fall on Friday at Newcastle Racecourse.

What Happened?

The 47-year-old jockey was unseated from his horse Ben Moacdui as it left the stalls, resulting in a neck injury. He was immediately rushed to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he remains in intensive care.

Further Tests

Lee will undergo additional tests today to determine the full extent of his injuries.

A Successful Career

Throughout his career, Lee has achieved impressive milestones, including winning the Grand National in 2004 aboard Amberleigh House and claiming the Gold Cup at Ascot in 2015 with Trip To Paris. He has ridden over 1,000 winners over jumps and made a successful transition to riding on the flat in 2012.
