Gareth Southgate's Christmas Wish: Kane and Bellingham's European Success

Gareth Southgates Christmas Wish: Kane and Bellinghams European Success

English Coaching and Premier League Raise the Bar

Gareth Southgate, the manager of the England national team, must be delighted to see the success of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham in Europe. The fact that they are now worth more than the £200 million that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid paid for them is a testament to the quality of coaching in English football and the standards that have risen since the introduction of the Premier League.

Goals Galore on Foreign Fields

While their success is commendable, the downside is that both Kane and Bellingham are scoring plenty of goals in foreign leagues, not in the Premier League. It is unlikely that we will see them playing in England this season. Kane left Tottenham Hotspur to join Bayern Munich primarily because of his desire to win major trophies. Bellingham, on the other hand, joined Borussia Dortmund at the age of 17 and has now moved on to Real Madrid, where he is already making a name for himself.

Kane's Sensational Start at Bayern Munich

Since joining Bayern Munich, Kane has been on fire, scoring 21 goals in just 15 games in the Bundesliga. His goal-scoring prowess is rivaled only by Erling Haaland among current strikers. Kane's move was fueled by frustration at Tottenham's inability to win major trophies and the club's insistence on a high transfer fee, effectively shutting the door on any English rival.

Bellingham's Rise to Stardom at Real Madrid

Bellingham, described as "the complete midfielder" by former Bayern and Germany captain Philipp Lahm, has quickly made an impact at Real Madrid. At just 20 years old, he already has 27 caps for the England national team and has scored two goals. His goal-scoring ability has drawn comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and Alfredo Di Stefano. Bellingham's behavior on and off the field is similar to Kane's - civil and appreciative of fans.

The Future for Kane and Bellingham

Manager Gareth Southgate hopes that both Kane and Bellingham will be in peak form for next summer's Euros. With their height, exceptional aerial abilities, and overall talent, they could be England's main hopes for success in Euro 2024. While it remains uncertain when they will return to English clubs, there is a chance that Bellingham, who hails from Birmingham, could make a comeback in the future.

Off the Field: Humble and Approachable

Both Kane and Bellingham are known for their humility and approachability. They are willing to engage with fans and media, a trait encouraged by Southgate. Unlike many star players of the past, they are open and down-to-earth, making them a credit to their country.

The Riches and Potential Future Success

While Bellingham is already wealthy, his success could propel him into the same financial bracket as Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. However, only a few clubs in England would be able to afford his transfer fee, wages, and associated costs. Nonetheless, both Kane and Bellingham have the potential to win trophies in the near future, with Kane's cup success likely not too far away.
