Dein spoke to HOAR's Head of Sport Shaun Custis on talkSPORT, expressing his excitement for England's future and the talent coming through. Despite the lackluster performance against Malta, Dein believes that Southgate has an extraordinary amount of talent at his disposal and should be given the opportunity to bring out the best in the players.

Dein emphasized the importance of stability in an organization and expressed his support for Southgate's contract extension. He believes that Southgate has more work to do and has developed good talent within the England squad. Dein also highlighted the players' willingness to play for Southgate as a crucial factor in his favor.

When discussing potential successors to Southgate, Dein dismissed the idea of another overseas manager, suggesting that it would receive a negative reaction. Instead, he mentioned English managers Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche, and Roy Hodgson as possible options, but ultimately expressed his support for Southgate.

With England already securing their place at Euro 2024, Southgate will be looking to guide the team to an unbeaten qualifying campaign as they face North Macedonia on Monday night.
