Several supporters in the home end also leapt for joy after Fernandes' strike hit the net. Despite being seated in the home section, some fans applauded and others pumped their fists in celebration.
Controversy Over Ticket Prices
Some Fulham supporters have accused the club of pricing out real fans after raising prices for United's visit. The club hierarchy faced criticism for charging £160 for seats in the Riverside Stand, with the cheapest matchday ticket costing £67.
Fans' Reactions
After United fans were spotted in the home end, Fulham fans expressed their frustration with the club. One fan said, "I'm sorry but it's nothing but pricing the real fans out. I assure you one thing, a lot of those people at the ground today don't care about Fulham, one game wonders I call them." Another added, "Look at the state of that home end. This is what you get when you price out real fans."
